The ALMS library celebrated YOUR freedom to read during Banned Book Week, September 26th to October 2nd. During this week block classes visited the library to learn about this annual national library event through a presentation about banned book week, given the chance to check out historically challenged, banned or censored books and try out our interactive ‘peek if you dare” banned books display. Lunch time banned book activities were also available.
September was Library Card Month-
Fresno County Librarians in collaboration with the ALMS library staff hosted a Library Card Sign Up Event September 15th during the student lunch breaks @ the ALMS library . Pictured are a few students and ALMS staff members that participated in the event including processing their application to receive a Fresno County library card, spinning the prize wheel and collecting additional resource information about the Fresno County libraries.
Abraham Lincoln Middle School Literacy Night/ Open House was held on March 5, 2020. Literacy night included a book walk, craft book mark station, readers theater and writing station. The winners of the raffle are as follows:

The 5th annual SDC etiquette luncheon was held on December 11, 2019. The students worked hard on their table manners and etiquette for their final grade for the end of the first semester. Some of the attendees were Selma Unified Superintendent Dr. Fisher, Library Media Coordinator Maria Petropulos,, ALMS Principal. Mrs.Sato Sanikian. I would like to thank our Leadership students who helped serve. Jennifer Martinez for donating the beautiful pretzels. Macie for preparing the beautiful desserts. Mrs. Miller McColm for all her help, Mrs. Bravo for working closely with me in planning this special day, to her students who prepared the mashed potatoes and corn. Special Thank you to Jeannette Baughman for donating the ham.
