First Time User:

  1. Select:   Create a New Account
  2. Select:   I am a Student or                                Library Patron
  3. Select:   SUBMIT
  4. Enter   YEAR of graduation
  5. Select:   SAVE PROFILE

--Create a  PROJECT-- ​

  • Select  Green NEW PROJECT button (top left)
  • Create a  TITLE - your research topic
  • Citation Style - MLA  8th edition (unless your teacher wants you to use APA)
  • Citation Level:   ADVANCED

​​--Create SOURCE CARDS for
​Works Cited--

  1. Select :  SOURCES tab (middle top of screen)
  2. Select:   Create NEW CITATION (green button)
  3. Choose  TYPE of SOURCE used: 
    • Database (Gale, EBSCO, ABC-CLIO, etc.)
    • Website (webpage, magazine, newspaper, reference source-encyclopedia: Britannica, Cavendish Square, etc.)
    • Print (book, encyclopedia - World Book, etc., newspaper)
    • File, app, e-book etc. (film, movie, video recording or clip - YouTube, music)
  4. Fill in as much information as you can locate from source
  5. SAVE before leaving source section​

​--Create a WORKS CITED by Exporting to Google Docs--

  1. Open the SOURCES tab
  2. Select the PRINT/EXPORT box
  3. Choose: Print/Export to Google Docs
  4. Allow access to your Google Drive account if prompted
  5. Open Google Doc in your Drive

​--Create Digital NOTECARDS in NoodleTools--

  1. Select: NOTECARDS tab (middle top of screen)
  2. Select: NEW+ (green button, top left)
  3. Click TITLE box and label the topic of your notecard
  4. Click SOURCE box and choose the source you used for the notes
  5. Under DIRECT QUOTATION section (left side) copy and paste your sentences or passages from your article or website
  6. To the left, under PARAPHRASE or SUMMARY - explain the Direct Quote(s) in your own words
  7. On the bottom, in MY IDEAS - write your impressions of the quote/paraphrase; your thoughts & questions; explain where this will fit in your argument, thesis or in your paper in general
  8. You can include a TAG to organize your notecards later
